Obituary for Christeen C. McIntosh

On Monday, June 24, 2019, Christeen C. McIntosh, loving wife, patient mother, and adoring grandmother passed away peacefully, at the age of 98, surrounded by her family. Christeen was born in Dallas, Texas, on September 6, 1920.  She married the love of her life, Thurman Edward McIntosh in 1938. Together they raised four children, Kathy Hermer, Carrol Thompson, Michael McIntosh and Sherry Laughridge. Christeen also had 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren on whom she doted. Christeen’s family was extensive but she always warmly accepted new members into her heart. She was a fashionista before it became trendy. She was beautiful and always well accessorized. She passionately sold women’s shoes with Lord & Taylor for over 30 years. She had an artful eye while making ceramics with her daughters.  Whimsical and fun-loving she enjoyed collecting McDonald’s Happy Meal toys.

Her family invites you to join them for visitation on Sunday, June 30, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Merit Memorial.  Funeral service will also be held at Merit Memorial on July 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a burial at Restland Cemetery beginning at 1:00 p.m.
