Dear Shannon, Kai Kai, and Blake. I have wonderful memories of both your parents. They were newly married when I was a little kid, and I thought they were so...cool! I’m glad I got to see y’all at your mom’s memorial service, and I would be at your dad’s, but we’re celebrating my daughter’s birthday tomorrow. Love, Cousin Mary Jane

Rest in Peace Wayne & Linda. I have many memories of them.. their taste for design and art. Wayne loved chairs and actually gave me a book about various designer chairs. Their love of fresh peaches and Whataburger and the country side of Dallas. Their enthusiasm for camping and adventure. My time with Gran often going to Braum's in her vintage Buick, the cherry limeades, and butterscotch candies. Taking the train from San Antonio to Dallas to see them and exiting the train to snow. How much they loved celebrating Christmas with their family and how thoughtful they were with gift giving & spreading joy. I would always receive a call on my birthday from them both singing their happy birthday song which was always something I looked forward to. Even with distance throughout my time in college I would receive calls and letters from Honey & Papa that were filled with love. I got to spend one final thanksgiving with them and my mother and am very grateful for that memory, Papa was defending Tony Romo as we watched the Cowboys game saying he was a wonderful QB despite his injuries. Papa's false eye that he would tease me with occasionally plucking it out of the socket with a little plunger to clean it off, which made me laugh and screech. Their singing doll of Dean Martin which still scares me. His stories and old videos of his ad man days. He was a good man. I will take with me their love for life, nature, and creativity and hope I can make them proud with my life. Rest easy Wayne and Linda.

Shannon-
It was such a privilege to know your awesome parents. I loved that they always had a story to tell. I loved hearing about the unique pieces of art and furniture they had collected over their lives. And I loved the story about I think your brother telling people that he was a descendant of the great Sam Houston!!! They are together again, smiling at each other and sharing their stories. Love to you Shannon.
