Obituary of Robert Lowe Estes

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bob passed away in the early morning hours of December 25th, his wish to be home for Christmas granted! He came home with Todd, Tami and I (Jura) with help and direction from Hospice. He was born in Houston on October 26, 1942, to Robert V. and Rowena L. Estes, they moved back to Dallas on their "Indian Motorcycle" with baby Bobby in the sidecar with his mother. Bob was very proud to have graduated from South Oak Cliff in 1961, he excelled at football but was exceptionally proud of his years as a Boy Scout-he and his dad became Eagle Scouts together. Starting at Mercantile Bank of Dallas and moving to Colorado and California until 1986 When he left CH Computax and moved to Canada to purchase a Country Inn, a lifestyle change for sure! Later we purchased "The Lighthouse Restaurant" and "Harris Hatch Inn", hard work but we loved and enjoyed both. The lucky part of this was we were in a summer seasonal tourist area so we were able to join the snowbird movement and enjoyed many winters in Myrtle Beach and Pinellas Park. Bob started his "Heart Journey" on December 24, 1994, but he was a positive fighter and did everything his Doctors suggested, this last fight was just too much. He is survived by his best friend and wife Jura, son Todd, daughter Tami (Tracy), stepson Trevor (Kerrie) and daughter-in-Law Sandy; grandchildren Ryan (Hong), Hunter, Tyler (Kara), Madelyn (Cory) and Amber; step-granddaughters Ravyn and Cedar and the newest generation seven great grandchildren; niece Cathy (Joey); great nephews Justin, Austin, Stefan. Pre-deceased by his parents, daughter Courtney, sister Becky and great nephew Nathan. His wishes were to be cremated and returned to my home town St. Andrews, NB, Canada for interment at a later date.
