I'm sorry to have just found this news about Dr. Wheeler so many months too late. I was telling my wife about one of his life lessons that he gave, and it prompted me to search for him. Dr. Wheeler gave plenty of those professionalism life lessons along with an enormous amount of technical lessons. He was one of the toughest professors that I had at the University of Memphis, but he was incredibly fair and only wished to develop the highest level of excellence in the young engineering students that he taught. He was a true genius, but he was still patient with us as long as we put forth an acceptable level of effort. I truly appreciate my experiences with Dr. Wheeler. I only wish that I had known his nickname was "Buddy". I'm very sorry for your loss, and know that he touched many, many lives in the most positive way.
