Obituary of Margaret Geraldine Gardner Gover

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret Geraldine Gardner Gover (Jeri) January 27, 1936 - March 19, 2022 Jeri was born in Fort Worth Texas, on January 27, 1936, to Lillian and W. A. Gardner and was raised in a Christian home by loving parents. Jeri married Allen Gover on August 12, 1954, working to support him as he received his college degree. Daughter Valerie arrived in August 1955, and son Keith, in March 1957. In 1958 Jeri and Allen moved to Plano, Texas and joined The First Baptist Church. Jeri’s priorities were faith, family, and friends. Jeri credits First Baptist Church in her spiritual growth, she loved teaching Sunday School to high school young women and singing in the choir. Ever the supportive wife, Jeri put the desire to further her education on hold, packing and moving the Gover’s to California, Connecticut, back to Texas and finally to Florida following her husband Allen’s career. Wherever the family lived Jeri always became involved in the community, joining and serving in her church as well as entertaining her children’s friends and church family in their beautiful and welcoming home. After moving to Plano in 1965 Jeri founded Plano Hospitality Service, welcoming newcomers to Plano from the local business community. This was a perfect fit for her warm, people-loving personality. In 1971 a move to Melbourne, FL, gave Jeri and Allen the opportunity to become business owners, purchasing Your House Interiors in 1976. At long last, furthering her education, in 1990 Jeri studied and became an accredited member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Jeri was a gifted Interior Designer, she loved all beautiful things, especially the beauty of God’s nature. She received immense joy in working with her clients, helping them turn a house into a home. Many of her clients became life-long friends. Jeri and Allen worked side by side until they retired in 2002. Jeri rose early every morning, praying over those on her prayer list, reading scripture, and writing notes of love and encouragement to family and friends. As a loving and encouraging mom, Jeri urged her children to follow their dreams wherever they led. The births of grandsons Taylor and Matt in 1985 and 1986, made Jeri a grandmother at the youthful age of 50. Christened “Two Mom” by Taylor, she delighted in the boys’ presence and in spending time with them. As time passed and dementia robbed her of so much, her greatest joys were being with family and attending Sunday Morning Worship at Park Cities Baptist Church. Jeri was preceded in death by her husband, Allen, and her son, Keith who died suddenly just 9 days prior. Jeri never recovered from the death of her husband and the death of her son was more than she could bear. She was also preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, Ila and Ira Gover, sister, Charlene Key, brother, Douglas Gardner, brother-in-law, Don Gover, and nephews, Jeff Key and Patrick Gover. Jeri is survived by her daughter, Valerie Bergstrom (Mark), daughter-in-law, Shari Warren Gover, grandchildren, Taylor Bergstrom (Elisa), Matt Bergstrom (Tiffany), great-grandchildren, Kate, and Bennett, Makenzie, and William, former daughter-in-law, Lisa Gover, brother-in-law, Roy (Sue) Gover, sister-in-law, Kathleen Gover, cousin, Ray Lowery (Betty). Nieces and Nephews; Debbie Daley, Julie Siegmund (Tony), Denise Young (Mike), Craig Gardner (Carol), Deborah Gover, Roy Gover, Karen Gover ((Jon Isherwood) as well as many great-nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and residents of Lakeview of Josey Ranch, Merit Hospice, and the staff and residents of The Hillcrest and Dallas Hospice. Interment will be Friday, April 29, 2022, at 10 am, at Greenwood Cemetery, Fort Worth Texas followed by a Celebration of her life and reception at 2 pm, Park Cities Baptist Church, Dallas, Texas, Ellis Chapel.
