Picking out a favorite memory of Geane in my life isn't easy since there are so many. Geane was always loving and caring. She raised Bruce to be such an incredible person and the man that I love. She welcomed me into their family over 46 years ago when I married Bruce. She loved our children and grandchildren as only a grandparent could. After my mother passed away and Geane moved to Fort Worth, she filled that void for me. Geane definitely did not fit the stories and jokes about the difficult mother-in-law.
Over the years when Bruce and I “philosophied” about our own marriage, we would inevitably end up talking about how Geane and Kirby and my parents set the examples for making a marriage work – the dedication, commitment, compromise, trust, give and take, respect, and unconditional love that it took.
I am so grateful that Geane was a part of my life. I will always cherish our time together.
