Obituary of Frances Jean Ramirez

Frances Jean Bryson Ramirez, known as “Fran” by friends and family, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Faith Presbyterian Hospice in Dallas, TX.

Fran is survived by her brother, Neil A. Bryson, D.D.S. and wife Michelle; children, Alan Ramirez and wife Courtney and grandson Sam, Matthew Ramirez and fiancé Blair Hudzietz. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and N A Bryson and her husband of 18 years, Albert Dan Ramirez.

Fran was born on February 3, 1953 in Fort Worth, TX. She earned her bachelors degree in 1976 and her masters degree in 1981, both from the University of North Texas. After graduating from college, she began her first job teaching in Earth, TX. Throughout her career as an educator and administrator she worked at various schools and environments including Dallas ISD, Cedar Hill ISD, and Cleburne ISD shaping young lives.

She married Dan Ramirez in 1981 and quickly began a family in Cedar Hill, TX in 1984. Fran was an active member of Southwest Baptist Church in DeSoto, TX, where she sang in the choir, played the piano/organ as needed, and volunteered countless hours with the children and youth departments. Fran loved children, but most importantly loved Jesus and wanted them to know Him as well.

Fran loved her sons, Alan and Matthew, dearly. She shared with her friends and family many times that she felt that her greatest purpose in life was raising her boys into men who loved God and loved people. As much as she loved being a Mama, being Sam’s “Mimi” brought her great joy.

Fran’s Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 1pm at the First United Methodist Church of Cedar Hill, TX, with a reception to follow at the church. Reverend Charles Kendall will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Fran’s life.

Flowers may be sent to Merit Memorial at 12801 North Stemmons Fwy, Farmers Branch, TX, 75234. Alternatively, donations may be sent to First United Methodist Church of Cedar Hill, TX at 128 N Roberts Rd, Cedar Hill, TX 75104 or Faith Presbyterian Hospice at www.faithpreshospice.org/donate.
