Obituary of Maite Brown

On March 25th of the year 2021, Maite Nerea Brown has unfortunately passed away at the age of 59, due to health complications during her stay at Faith Presbyterian Hospice in Dallas, Tx.
As her surviving Daughter Sarah Dross and her brother David Brown grieve over their loss, they both reflect upon the life of Maite Brown.
Maite was born in Houston, Tx, on June 20th of 1961, from the parents of Walter Oral Brown and Josefa Echevarria. Throughout her childhood she grew up in Lakejackson, Tx.
Friends would call her “free spirited” and always see her crabbing with her family, or having fun at the local swimming pool down the street.
During her teenage years Maite was known for traveling to Surfside Beach with friends, and sometimes partying alongside the coast of Galveston, Tx.
Maite attended Brazoswood Highschool and graduated in the year 1980, shortly after she started studying at Houston Community College Office of International Student Services, she also studied at Brazosport College Career and Transfer Center.
Although she never finished pursuing her college career, it didn’t stop her from conquering the world.
Maite worked at Exco Resources Inc for 11 years at Dallas, Tx, as an Supplies & Services Coordinator, Administrative Services, and Receptionist.
Whenever she’s home, she enjoys spending time with her Scottish Terrier named Isabelle, watching movies, listening to her DVD player before bed, crafting, and organizing The Scottie Christmas Card Exchange.
She also participated in the North Texas Scottie Rescue for a couple of years, won 3rd place in a Scottie Costume Contest, and joined a Facebook organization called “Adopted By Scotties”.
Her life will be greatly missed by those spread by her kindness, may the world never forget the impact or legacy made by a one of kind woman, in the name of Maite Brown.
May our Almighty God bless her soul, as she was a devoted Catholic to her faith.
