I just discovered that Maite has passed away. I worked with Maite for 7 years at EXCO and remained friends after we both left the company. Maite was so very proud of her daughter Sarah and allowed me the pleasure and privilege of taking Sarah to The American Girl store at the Galleria for tea and lunch.
She will truly be missed and left this world far too soon. My deepest condolences to both Sarah and David.

Maite was much loved by her Scottie friends and our sisterhood group. I will always remember the effort and care she took to make the Christmas Card Exchange a success. Maite, sweet friend you will be sorely missed. Sarah, your Mom has to be smiling down from heaven and surrounding you with love and pride for her courageous and beautiful daughter. Sending my deepest sympathy for your loss.

Maite was what we all should be. I, WE are better for having known her. Even if it was only through her Scottie Christmas card exchange or Adopted by Scotties website. Or those being blessed with the gift of actually exchanging a hug. Maite was magic. And there is never enough magic in this world. Heaven has become even more beguiling, even more, to pray for.

May Maite rest in peace. She will forever be missed in the scottie groups she was a part of. Last year was my first year being a part of the Christmas card exchange. It particularly meant a lot to me b to get so many beautiful cards, since my family and my daughter don't speak to me. You touched so many lives and will be greatly missed !!

Dear Sarah. Like many others I only knew your Mother from Facebook. However we had numerous conversations through messenger. A couple of years ago she posted she had a scotty figurine she was giving away and anyone interested could put their name in. Well I was the one who one it. It’s a metal funky scotty and I love it. I will treasure it as I will the memory of your mother. She was an amazing woman and I will miss her terribly. I had hoped to meet her one day on one of our trips with the Travelling Scotties. May she Rest In Peace and may you find comfort In her memory. We’ll miss you Maite
