Obituary for Randall Goar
Randall G. Goar was born June 12, 1941 to Faye and T.W. Goar in San Saba, Texas. He passed to his heavenly home December 12, 2019. He was raised in a loving, Christian home and grew up attending the Baptist Church where his dad was in the ministry. He lived in several small West Texas towns, graduated high school in Muleshoe and attended college at Wayland Baptist in Plainview. As a young adult, Randall enjoyed singing and often served his church in music and youth ministry. He pursued a career in main-frame computer programming. His work took him to Dallas where he spent most of his career employed by Fitz & Floyd and the Bombay Company. He married Jacque Moreland in Dallas. They lived in Roanoke Trophy Club where he enjoyed playing tennis, traveling, and being a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. After retirement he moved to Corinth, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by a sister, Kay Mercer and husband Ron of Norman, Oklahoma, niece Michelle Nolan and husband Wendell and great nephews Quinton, Connor, and Cord of Bixby, Oklahoma and nephew Michael Mercer and wife J. J. and great nephews Jacob, Chase, and Tyler of Prosper, Texas. He is also survived by one uncle, Gene Goar of Tyler, Texas and several cousins including Randy and Rusty Rude of Arlington, Texas who have been particularly supportive during his recent illness.
