Obituary of Joe Allen McFadin

Joe Allen McFadin, 83, passed away on December 10, 2019 in Dallas.

Visitation will be held at the Merit Memorial Funeral Home (12801 N. Stemmons Fwy. Ste. 803) on December 19 from 6:30-8:30 PM.  Graveside service and burial will be held at the DFW National Cemetery at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy. Dallas, TX 75211 on December 20 at 12:30 PM. 

Joe was born on October 9, 1936 in Fort Worth, TX to Jesse Bernice and Francis Sue McFadin. He attended Haltom High School and graduated in 1954. He served in the US Navy from 1954-1962. He married Myrna Darlene Gardner in 1961 and they adopted five children before divorcing in 1985. Joe was ordained to the ministry and pastored several Baptist churches in Texas and New Mexico. He later worked as a food warehouse supervisor for two companies for over thirty years before retiring in 2005.

Joe is survived by daughter, Darlene Hamilton and her husband James Hamilton of Grand Prairie, TX, Victor and Marie McFadin of Pensacola, FL, Gloria and Rick Copp of Keller, TX , Johnny McFadin of Utica, NY, by brother JB and wife Joy McFadin of Keller, TX,  and by nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Louise Reynolds and Charlene Neill, and daughter Yvonne.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all the staff at The Avenues Assisted Living of Forest Park in Dallas, and the Choice Hospice nurses who gave him such excellent care!
