Bobby Garrett

Obituary of Bobby Lloyd Garrett

Bobby Lloyd Garrett, 64, of Lake Dallas, TX, went to be with his Lord & Savior on December 8th, 2019 at Medical City Hospital in Denton, TX after suffering from a hemorrhagic stroke on November 27, 2019.

Bobby was born July 26, 1955 in Dallas, TX to Bonnie Bell Garrett & Bob Mack Garrett.  Bobby was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.  He is adored by his family and the many friends he touched throughout his life.

Bobby was taught from an early age to work hard and to enjoy life.  With his father, he spent countless years spending summers fishing, camping, and learning to be a mechanic.  His first vehicle, at 15, was a motorcycle that my mother was more than happy to ride wherever the wind took them.  His love of motorcycles carried on throughout his life.  He was the best father a girl could hope to have,  spending most weekends skating, going to the movies and to amusement parks. Later in life, he became my most trusted confidant spending countless hours on the phone asking for advice that only he could give. He was also a devoted son never missing a Sunday to spend the day with his mother & sister until their deaths.  Bobby gave freely and never expected anything in return.  He believed in earning his money the honest way and responsibility came easy to him.  He was a serious quiet man and yet always had a kind word for each person in his life.  He was a principled man and had a strong faith in the Lord.  Because of God’s grace and mercy, we can rest in the comfort that he has been reunited with his departed family and is now rejoicing with Christ.  He embodied the father and son that most can only dream of becoming.  We will forever miss your laughter, jokes, wisdom, and knowledge.

Bobby went to Carter High School, later graduating from Skyline High School.  He followed in his father’s footsteps becoming an apprentice at Gardner Denver.  Bobby worked as a Machinist for over 40 years, retiring from Halliburton in 2017.   Over the years, his career included working as a CNC Lead Man, a Precision Machinist, and Maintenance Machinist.  Bobby was proud of the work he achieved and always felt blessed to have a career.

Preceding Bobby in death was his father, Bob Mack Garrett and mother, Bonnie Bell Garrett; Brother, Allen Colvert; Sister, Linda Edwards, and Nephew, Adam Clark.

Bobby is survived by his daughter, Angie Wright and husband, Corey Wright, of Magnolia, TX ; Granddaughter, Emily Morton and husband, Justin Morton, of Houston, TX; Grandson, Brian Wright and fiancée, Destiny Vau, of Houston, TX; Granddaughter, Trinity Wright, of Magnolia, TX; Mother of his child, Lou Slocum; Sister, Dorothy Clark of Dallas, TX & Nephew, Zachary Clark of Dallas, TX; Brother In Law, Talmadge Edwards of Cedar Hill, TX and Niece Karen Ingram of Midlothian, TX
