Frances was born on September 11, 1935 in Pearland, TX to William Robert and Bessie Harness Boyd. She graduated from Alvin Community College in 1956 with an associate’s degree. On August 15, 1957, Frances married her high school sweetheart, Harold T. Rhodes, an Army veteran and construction manager. They moved to numerous locations throughout their marriage and settled in Dallas, TX for the last 34 years of their 62-year marriage. Her children remember her as a loving, devoted mother who taught them about her faith in Jesus Christ and who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Frances was blessed with a beautiful alto singing voice and a talent for sewing. She gladly used her gifts for the Lord’s ministry. She will be remembered as a generous individual who volunteered in numerous ways as an active and dedicated member of the Royal Haven Baptist Church.

A graveside service for her progeny will be at 11:30 am on August 21, 2019 at the National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX, 75211. Don Hancock will officiate the service. A memorial celebration will be provided to extended family and friends at another date to be announced.
