Obituary of Jeffrey Henderson

JEFFREY PAUL HENDERSON

After a surprising diagnosis of lung cancer, Jeffrey Paul Henderson went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2019, in The Colony, TX at the age of 55. He leaves behind his mother, Margaret, "Peggy", Henderson; father, Larry Dean Henderson, Sr.; brother, Larry Dean Henderson, Jr.; sister, Donna Lynn Lillard and her husband, Wendell; brother, Bryan Lee Henderson and Bryan's wife, Luanne. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jeff was born on August 28, 1963, in Leola, SD to father Larry Dean Henderson, Sr. and mother Margaret Alvina Witzke. He is preceded in death by Richard and Minnie Witzke & Paul and Mildred Henderson. He grew up in a large, loving family with two brothers and a sister.

Jeff was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and completed many merit badges in order to earn the honor of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Lewisville High School in 1981 and became an electrician. He was a perfectionist with his work, a mentor to new employees and he specialized in all commercial applications. He told us while in the hospital that his greatest goal was to be respected by fellow employees and bosses. He accomplished that goal.

He loved to golf, play disc golf, swim, go camping and oh how he loved his cats. He enjoyed listening to old rock-n-roll music, jazz and the blues.

Jeff requested to be cremated. A service for friends and family will be held at on August 31, 2019 at Grace Community Baptist, 4627 W. Lake Highlands Drive, The Colony, TX 75056 at 4:00 pm with a meal to follow. Those who would like to take part may join the family afterward at Hidden Cove Park in The Colony. Everyone will meet at campsite #84 for the spreading of Jeffs ashes as this was his favorite camp and fishing site.

The family would especially like to thank Ardent Hospice, for their compassion, excellent work and gentle, loving care; the staff of Ardent; Allison, Amy, Charlotte and Deborah for their constant, attentive treatment; and the Merit Funeral Home, for making the arrangements. In lieu of flowers please send a donation, in Jeffs name, to Ardent Hospice at www.ardenthospice.com
