Obituary of Barba "Bobbie" Murdoch-Steele

Barba Rita (Bobbie) Murdoch Steele passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at her home in Dallas, surrounded by loved ones.  She was born in Dallas on July 19, 1932 and attended Forest Avenue High School.  She lived a long life with a deep devotion to family.  With her husbands, she enjoyed traveling and seeing new sites.  They especially enjoyed spending time at their vacation home in Red River, New Mexico.  She loved her church and faithfully attended Sunday School until her health failed.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Willie Harmons, and sister, Betty Joyce Harmon, and her two husbands, Russell Murdoch and Omer H. Steele. She is survived by cousin Paula Gill (Charlie) of Centralia, Washington.  As she never had children, she loved both Russell’s and Omer’s families as her own; stepson Layne Murdoch (deceased), niece Erin Stump (Tim) who was like a daughter to her and step-daughter Pam Liebrum (Kit) who she considered her family.  She will be remembered as Grandmother to their children, Holly Murdoch, Jenny Layne Murdoch Fallis (Mark), Layne (Abby) Murdoch, Jr., Sydney Murdoch, Kevin Stump, Bryan (Rebecca) Stump, Megan Stump, Andrea Hedrick, Aaron (Amy) Liebrum and Jamie Liebrum; great-grandchildren Frankie Fallis, Octavia Murdoch, Jesse and Slade Liebrum, and Kennedy Hendrick.

In lieu of flowers she wishes donations to be made to American Cancer Society or First Baptist Dallas.

“Thank you to Erin, Pam, Holly and Jenny for taking such loving care of me.”
