Obituary of Edith Marie McIntosh

Edith Marie McIntosh, 88, died on July 30, 2019 at her home in Dallas, Texas after a short illness.

Her funeral service will be held on July 31, 2019 at 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Merit Memorial Funeral and Cremation Care 12801 N. Stemmons Fwy, Farmers Branch, TX 75234.

Marie was born on August 3, 1930 in Beaumont, Texas to George and Edith Brown. She was one of six children. She attended Stephen F Austin State University. She gained a teaching degree at Stephen F Austin and was a teacher for many years. She would later earn a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, and specialize in Family and Child therapy. Later she worked until she was 82 for the Veteran’s Administration conducting military exit evaluations.

While at Stephen F Austin, she met and married her sweetheart Jesse McIntosh. They were married in March of 1954. They raised three children, John Carlton McIntosh, Joseph Kenton McIntosh (deceased) and Madeline Marie McIntosh. In her spare time she liked to read and cook. She was a loving wife and mother.

She is survived by her husband Jesse and two children, John and Madeline.
