Obituary of Barbara Jane Melander

Barbara J. Melander, age 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 29, 2019, at the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center in Dallas, TX.  She was born August 8, 1943, in St. Paul, MN, to Basil and Dorthy (Rasmussen) Murrell.

She was a 1961 graduate of Palatine High School.  She married Raymond Melander, Jr. on June 25, 1966, in Arlington Heights, IL.  She owned and retired two business, Affiliated Secretarial Service and Courtyard Suites and Secretarial Services over the years.  She was also an instrumental part of the family business in Plano, TX, R. Melander & Associates. Working with her husband and son, Ryan Melander (47) was a true joy in her life. She always looked forward to the day that her two grandchildren, Jonah (20) and Jillian (17) might join the family business, selling eye care diagnostic equipment.  Enjoying life to the fullest, she spent weekends at Lake Texoma, reading novels, gardening, and shopping with her grandchildren. Throughout her lifetime she showed, expressed, and taught the importance of celebrating birthdays and all holidays to her son and two grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by all thankfully impacted by her life.
