Cynthia Welch

Obituary of Cynthia Elaine Welch

Cynthia Elaine Welch, 65, passed away on Monday, November 12th, after a very short battle with cancer.  She left this world surrounded by the love of her children, best friend and grandchildren.

Cynthia, known by “Cindy”, was born in Ohio in 1953 to Alfred and Virginia Kenyon.  She was the youngest of three daughters.  She graduated high school and soon gave birth to her first daughter, Tammy.  Soon after she welcomed another daughter, Melissa, who was soon followed by Josh, the only son in the bunch.

In 1983, Cindy left Ohio and made her home in Llano, Texas.  Ten years passed, and then along came daughters Stephanie, Stacy, Danielle and finally, Brenna.  Cindy fully believed her greatest accomplishment was her seven children.  Cindy was most known in Llano from her many years working at the Circle K convenience store and then Head Start Preschool.

In 2001, she moved to Evant, Texas, where she worked at Evant Grocery and then owned C & G Grocery.  She was well-known in the community and never greeted anyone without a smile.  She took pride in watching her children succeed in their extracurricular activities.   Her children’s friends in both Llano and Evant were always treated as her own.

Cindy is fondly remembered by her children, Melissa Nobles and husband Marc of Denton, Josh Wilson of Kingsland, Stephanie Welch of Buchanan Dam, Stacy Welch of Lewisville, Danielle Welch of Evant, Brenna Dominguez and husband Robert of Dublin, and son-in-law, John Berry, of Austin; sisters Carol and Charlotte of Ohio; best friend and soul-sister, Natalie Hall of Evant; fourteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless friends.

She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Alfred and Virginia Kenyon of Columbus, OH; and her oldest daughter, Tamara Berry, of Hempstead.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, November 17th, at 2:00pm, at the Evant Municipal Park.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests you share your special memories of Cindy on the online obituary.
