Obituary of Robert Hourihan

Robert “Bob” Charles Hourihan passed away peacefully on June 22, 2019 at the age of 82.  His final days were spent surrounded by family.  Bob was a resident of Dallas, Tx.  Bob was born on February 4, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois.  He grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, where he met Kitty.  In 1966, Bob married the love of his life, Kitty.  Bob and Kitty moved to Dallas, Tx and raised their 11 children.   They spent much of their time at Lake Texoma fishing for stripers and teaching their children all about life at the lake.  Bob was a hard-working man.  He worked at Bob DePriest Music Company for many years.  Bob ended up purchasing the company and passing it on to his son, Bill.  One of his favorite things to do was to watch the Dallas Cowboys play football. Bob adored his dogs and they were often by his side. 

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Catherine “Kitty” Daly Hourihan;  father and mother, John Joseph and Ruth Hourihan; brothers,  Jim Hourihan and Jackie Hourihan; sister,  Ruth Banville;  sons, Christopher Hourihan, Patrick Hourihan, and Thomas Campbell; daughters, Christine Campbell, Lee Pruitt, and Katie Campbell.  He is survived by his daughters, Mary (Tom) O’Mara, Cecelia (Brent) Neer, Connie (Kenny) Groat; sons, Jack Hourihan and Bill (Janie) Campbell;  daughter-in-law, Christy Hourihan; sisters, Gerry Marler, Patricia McGinnis, and Cheryl LoStracco; 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and his beloved dogs Watson and Oscar. 

Services will be held Tuesday, June 25 at 10:30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 600 S. Jupiter, Richardson, Tx.  There will be a graveside service at Restland, Court of Freedom in Dallas, Tx immediately following mass.
