Obituary of Josephine Gertrude Oprendek

Josephine Metzerott Oprendek, born March 9, 1931 in Rochester, Minnesota passed away comfortably on June 21, 2019 in Dallas Texas at Faith Presbyterian Hospice with her family by her side.  Jo is survived by her son Stephen G (Trey) Oprendek III and wife Linda, daughter Rhonda Latham and husband Matthew, and granddaughter Emily Latham.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews including Dawn Metzerott.  She was pre-deceased by her husband, Stephen George Oprendek, Jr., brother Dr. Kirk Metzerott and sister, Pauline Hulen.

Jo’s best day ever was Thanksgiving when she would attend the Cowboy game to watch Roger or Troy dominate the opponent, leave the game just a few minutes early and effortlessly have dinner on the table for her large annual Thanksgiving Dinner.  Her sharp wit and personality along with a spirit of always doing and teaching the “right thing” will be missed.
