Obituary of Henry "Clay" White

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Henry "Clay" White, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Clay was born on May 21, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to proud parents Henry Clay and Connie White. He peacefully departed this world on August 4, 2023, following a courageous battle with cancer. Clay's life was a tapestry of love, perseverance, and meaningful connections. An Air Force baby, he embarked on an early journey that took him from his birthplace to Anchorage, Alaska, and eventually to Roswell, New Mexico, where he met his lifelong friend and love, Ellen Garlow. Their bond was forged in the third grade, and over the years, it grew into a deep and enduring partnership. High school sweethearts, they went on to marry and build a life together spanning 56 years which would inspire all who knew them. In the heart of their journey, Clay and Ellen welcomed their treasured daughter, Kim Renee, into the world in January of 1968. Clay's devotion to his family was unwavering. From working at his father's service station in Roswell to creating a loving home in Midland, Texas, Clay's dedication was a cornerstone of his character. A man of many talents, Clay embraced a variety of vocations, from a skilled diesel mechanic to a seasoned long-haul truck driver in the oil field service industry. His commitment and expertise were evident in all he undertook. Yet, beyond his professional achievements, Clay found solace in the outdoors. Fishing, waterskiing, and time spent on the water were sources of joy, as was his love for fast cars and boats, of which he had many. In the year 2000, Clay and Ellen created a new chapter, moving to McKinney, Texas, where they founded CW Construction, a thriving builder servicing business. Clay's legacy extended beyond his business acumen; he was a father figure and friend to those who worked with him, who he loved and appreciated. His infectious spirit, genuine care, and radiant smile left an indelible mark on all he encountered. Clay is preceded in death by his parents Connie and Henry White and his younger brother John White. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ellen; his cherished daughter, Kim Renee and husband Erik Hewett; his adored grandson, Grayson; his loving sister, Peggy Parlee; her children, Chad Parlee and Shawna McIlvain; his nephew John Clay White, along with numerous friends and loved ones. Clay's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him, a testament to a life well-lived and a legacy of love, friendship, and inspiration. Clay's memory will be celebrated in a memorial service on August 19th at 11:00 AM at the T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center, located at 12477 Merit Dr., Dallas, TX 75251. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Faith Presbyterian Hospice & T. Boone Pickens Hospice Center, where Clay spent his final days.
