Obituary of Joseph Diamond
Joseph Edward Diamond, Beloved Husband of Therese (Tess), Father, Grandpa and Friend, died at his home in McKinney Texas on February 6, 2023.
Joe was born to Joseph William and Imogene (nee’ Carey) Diamond on October 21, 1942. He was raised in Tinley Park where he attended St. George Catholic School, later he graduated from Bremen High School. He went on to serve in the US National Guard and earned a degree in accounting from De Paul University.
In 1962, he met Therese Marie Brindl. The couple married June 4, 1966. In July 1968, the couple welcomed son, John Joseph and in October of 1972, a daughter, Deanna Lynn.
In 1991 Joe returned to school to study law. A year later his son John started the program, father and son graduated with their Juris Doctorates in May of 1995.
Together, Joe, John and Tess, (a certified paralegal) opened Diamond Law Firm, where they served residents of the San Fernando Valley (and beyond) with their civil litigation and tax needs for over a decade. In 2014 Joe and Tess moved to Collin County, Texas, where Joe continued to practice law and provide tax services
In September of 2022, Joe began to show signs of cognitive impairment. Sadly, he was diagnosed with end-stage dementia in October of 2022. He was able to remain at home until he passed.
Joe is survived by his wife, Tess, son, John (Allie) his much loved granddaughter, Holly Diamond of Salt Lake City, Utah and Daughter, Deanna (Allan) Zoellick. Joe also leaves behind his sisters Donna (Dave) Stankus and Jean (Sean) Ehlke and their families as well as his close uncle, friend and confidant, Ed (Mary) Carey, in addition to several extended family members and friends throughout the US.
Preceding Joe in death, are his infant sister Linda, parents, Imogene and Joseph William, both sets of grandparents as well as several other aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family wishes to thank Merit Mortuary, The Dallas National Cemetery, and the dedicated caregivers who assisted in Joe's care during his final days.
