Obituary of Janice Badgett

Janice Lee (Pritchett) Badgett, 84, of Allen, Texas went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family, on March 13, 2023. Born July 10, 1938, to Otis Lee Pritchett and Charlotte Elizabeth Fulton in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she spent her childhood and graduated high school in 1956. She went to beauty school and earned her license. A short time later, a client of hers introduced Janice to her son, Bill. They fell in love and on December 8, 1961, Janice married her best friend, the love of her life, William (Bill) Ray Badgett Sr.
Janice was a stay-at-home mom and raised their 2 children. She and Bill along with their children loved to go camping and ride motorcycles with the Valentour family. They all spent many wonderful years together. The Valentour children thought of Janice as their second mom. She was very influential in their lives as well as her own children.
Bill and Janice were avid Oklahoma State Cowboy fans. They regularly attended football games.
When the kids got older, she worked in Hallmark stores part time. Janice was an active member of the Church of Servant in OKC. She and Bill took many trips with friends to destination golf courses. They retired to Hot Springs Village to continue their love of playing golf. Janice enjoyed crappie fishing and Fish Frys that followed.
In her final years, Janice moved to Allen to be near her daughter and son-in-law. She lived at Parkview Estates Senior Apartments. She was an active resident of the community. Janice participated in water aerobics, chili cookoffs, line dancing, but her favorite activity was being the wine lady. Every Friday they had happy hour she assisted in serving wine and other refreshments to the group. She loved each and every one of them.
Survived by daughter and spouse, Denise and Don Lipps Allen, TX, son and spouse Ray and Neddi Badgett of Fort Gibson, OK, Grandchildren, Blaine and Kaylei Badgett, Megan and Justin Dudley, Haven and Jacob Pekrul, Great grandchildren Jeremiah, Jonah, Reid, Jaxten, Wes and Jenson. Sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Ronnie Skinner of Wanette, OK, As well as many cousins, nieces and nephews, special friends.
Preceded in death by husband, William Ray (Bill) Badgett, parents, Otis and Charlotte Pritchett.
Memorial Services: Friday May 5, 2023, at 11:00am, Church of the Servant Methodist Church,14343 N. MacArthur Blvd. Oklahoma City, OK 73142. The family request attendees wear orange and black for her love of Oklahoma State Cowboys. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Cancer Research Hospital.
