Obituary of Jayne Loy

Please share a memory of Jayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mina “Jayne” Loy, passed away Monday, March 27th 2023 in Dallas, TX after a short and aggressive battle with cancer. Jayne was born on July 14th, 1942 in Nowata, OK and prided herself as an Okie. Jayne was the only child of a single Mother in the wake of WW II in rural Oklahoma. Fortunately, the love and strength of her Mother Vivian, coupled with the support of her Grandparents and extended family, gave her an enviable upbringing in the Osage Hills where she learned to fish, hunt, and take pride in who she was. That strong and confident woman in her newly acquired convertible approached a random intersection in 1960 where unbeknownst to her she would meet the love of her life, James Robert Loy. They wed on November 25th, 1961 in Bartlesville, OK. Jim and Jayne were married for 50 years until Jim’s passing in 2012. They had 3 children, Kelly Loy Kutey of Huntersville, NC, James Robert Loy (Laura Loy) of Los Alamos, NM, and Stacy Loy Evans (Pete Evans) of Princeton, TX. Followed by 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Jayne’s early years were spent as a professional water skier. This fueled her love of the water, boating and fishing. After marrying Jim, they took up camping and spending many of the kid’s early years and ultimately in retirement enjoying their love of camping in the New Mexico mountains that has since been turned onto their kids and grandkids. Jim and Jayne retired and moved to Bella Vista, AR in 1999 where they loved to golf, fish and eventually where Jayne found a love for knitting. After Jim’s passing, Jayne immersed herself in knitting, crocheting and the rug hooking communities of Northwest Arkansas where she met many wonderful friends. During this time, she also found her church home at Lost Bridge Community Church in Garfield, AR. In 2021 Jayne moved to Dallas to be closer to family, which was a godsend in hindsight, not knowing her health would decline rapidly. Jayne stayed connected to her church family and began streaming Sunday services with her beloved congregation at Lost Bridge Community Church. Quickly after moving to Dallas, she found another equally amazing group of friends to continue her love for knitting and crocheting in Farmersville, TX. Jayne will be missed by her sister Brenda, niece, nephews, cousins, godchild and friends including her lifelong bestie Billie and her fur baby Greta. Jayne wishes to be buried in her family’s cemetery next to her Mother Vivian and Husband Jim in Barnsdall, OK. This will occur later in the year. Jayne’s children would like to honor her wishes, and ask for anyone looking to pay their respects to Jayne can do so by donating in her honor to lostbridgecommunitychurch.com and navigate to the sharing link. These funds will be designated to the Jayne Loy fund and aid in providing a new and needed AV system for streaming their services which she so lovingly did.
