Mildred Ann Martin Hellmann, 91, passed away in Anna, Texas on Friday, September 2, 2022 supported by her family and devoted health aides. Mildred was born May 8, 1931 in Louisville, Kentucky to parents Henry and Agnes Martin. She met Donald George Hellmann in Louisville and they married in 1953. Mildred was a long-time member of St. Stephen Martyr in Louisville, KY and served in numerous capacities for the church. She volunteered numerous hours in support of various St. Stephen Martyr functions. Mildred became a “walker” in her forties. She was known throughout the Germantown neighborhood for her devotion and regimen. For thirty-five years she committed to walking four miles per day. She was introduced to golfing later in life by her husband, Donald, and became a longtime member of Seneca Golf Club. She continued in a Women’s Golf League until shortly before her move to Texas. Mildred is predeceased by her husband, Donald George Hellmann, her older brothers Henry Martin Jr., Paul Martin and his wife (Mary). She is survived by her daughters: Theresa Maye (James J. Maye III) Donna Hellmann, Kathy Wohlschlegel (O. Raymond Wohlschlegel) Denise Hellmann, Mary Hellmann (Christopher Cook). She is survived by 4 grandchildren: Diane Maye Zorri, James J. Maye IV, Donald G. Maye, Loretta Hellmann, and 4 great grandchildren. Memorial donations in Mildred’s name can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and the American Cancer Society. Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 28, 2022, St. Stephen Martyr Church, 2931 Pindell Avenue, Louisville, KY 40217. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, 1300 Ellison Avenue, Louisville, KY 40204. A Celebration of Life (12:00 - 4:00 PM) will be held at O’Shea’s Restaurant, 956 Baxter Avenue, Louisville, KY 40204.
