Obituary of Florence Revolee Vesey

Florence Revolee (Hughes) Vesey died at her daughter’s home on April 28, 2019, in Farmers Branch, TX after a stroke.  She was 88.

Revolee was the 8^th child born to James Henry and Lillie Elvira (Jones) Hughes in Pickens, South Carolina on December 4, 1930.  She grew up attending Oolenoy Baptist Church in Pumpkintown, SC where she was the church pianist during her high school years.  She married her high school sweetheart in 1948, they had one daughter (Joyce), and they divorced in 1973.  In 1980 she married Charles Cleburne Vesey and they resided in Houston until his death in April 2011.  Revolee worked many years as a receptionist before retiring from Kent Electronics in Houston, TX.  In January 2013 she moved to Dallas to be near her daughter and her family.  She recently resided at Brookdale Senior Living-Farmers Branch where she was lovingly cared for by their staff.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her 7 brothers and sisters, her husband, Charlie, and her stepson Russell Dean Hall Vesey.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Paul Lonquist of Farmers Branch, TX; her daughter-in-law, Tina Vesey of Houston, TX; her grandson Kyle, wife Lacie, and great-grandson Jordan of Odessa, TX; her granddaughter Katie and husband Chase Thomas of The Colony, TX; her grandson Angel Vesey of Houston, TX; her former husband William Garland Nealy of Farmers Branch, TX; and many nieces and nephews.   

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 5 at 4:00 p.m. at the Old Church in the Farmers Branch Historical Park, 2540 Farmers Branch Lane, Farmers Branch, TX.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Friends of the Farmers Branch Historical Park, Vesey Memorial, P.O.
