Timothy David Bishop
2 Timothy 4:7
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
Timothy David Bishop 75, of Forney, Texas, passed away on June 30, 2022, in Dallas, Texas.
Private Family Visitation will be held at the courtesy of Mason Funeral Home on July 14, 2022, at 5:00pm. Graveside services will be held at Gooch Cemetery in Mason, Texas on July 15, 2022, at 10:00 am. Merit Memorial of Farmers Branch, Texas will be managing the funeral arrangements.
Tim was born in Brady, Texas to Walter and Edwardine on January 26, 1947. He spent his youth in Midland, Texas, and was a graduate of Robert Lee High School. His passion for geophysics provided the path to his life’s career in the oil & gas industry as a consultant. In his spare time, he enjoyed working as a Midland County Reserve Deputy alongside Sheriff Gary Painter. It was his way of giving back to the men who serve. Tim had immense pleasure fishing from his boat, hunting, and playing golf with his wife, children, and grandchildren but more than that he loved serving in ministry. He spent countless hours at the Salvation Army ministering to people who needed the love of Christ. He was also a member of the Full Gospel Businessman’s Association. Even in his final months he was sharing the love of Christ to others in the hospital. Tim will leave behind a legacy of self-sacrifice for others, and as a man of strong, unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was simply a man of faith.
Tim is survived by his beloved wife Alice Bishop of Forney, Texas. He leaves behind his daughter Cara Anne Spicer and husband John of Blacksburg, VA; daughter from second marriage Ruth Ann Jackson and husband Steve of Wichita Falls, TX; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five brothers, Walter Bishop Jr and wife Vada, Winston Bishop and wife Edwina, Randy Bishop and wife Rebecca, Mike Bishop and wife Linda, Billy Bishop and wife Brenda; sister, Barbara Honea and husband John; numerous nieces and nephews.
