Obituary of David Groves

David George Groves, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed from this world on the evening of April 6th, 2022, in Waxahachie, Tx with family by his side. David was born to Jim Groves and Eva Gunter Groves on August 27th, 1940, in Dallas, Tx. He was the youngest of four sons.
David was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Jimmie, Jerry, and Bill. He attended Lewisville High School and was baptized in the United Methodist Church.
David left behind the love of his life, his wife Leatha Ledbetter Groves, two sons he was so proud of, John Groves and Mark Groves, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, many other loving family members, and his cats.
David was a man of many hobbies throughout his life including scuba diving, sailing, fishing, golf, flying RC airplanes and playing guitar. He was an accomplished billiards player and loved poker or dice games when he was younger.
David was in the commercial construction business all his life owning companies and estimating for others. He retired from Shahan and Son, Ltd in Dallas, Tx in 2006. He enjoyed a long retirement living on Lake Palestine with Leatha and all their pets.
David was an honorable well-respected man who never compromised his morals. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Even in death, he has continued with his generosity by donating his body to Science Care.
There will be no services so remember and honor him as you will.
