Obituary of Ronald Hendry

Ronald Earl Hendry, age 80, died March 20, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. At his request, no formal services are planned. Ron was born in 1941 in Athens, Texas to Earl and Ethel Hendry, née Noble. He earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1963. He quickly earned his State Professional Engineering license and settled in the DFW area. In 1981, he married his beloved wife, Alice, and became stepfather to her children, Christopher and Carolyn Pike. Ron was the sweetest, kindest, and most gentle man Alice had ever met. Ron worked many years as an engineer, businessman, and accident investigator. After retiring, he continued to research and write about his interests. He was deeply curious and loved sharing what he’d learned with others. He was determined to solve the mysteries of life. Some of his biggest accomplishments included preserving the family farm in Athens and becoming a published author. His dry sense of humor and loyalty to his loved ones were just a few of his best qualities. Ron is survived by his wife of 40 years, Alice, his sister Ellen Hendry Wheeler, and a large extended family.
