DOROTHY NOOTE, Dorothy Grace, 76, of Bedford, Texas, died on January 9, 2022, and she is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Dorothy's faith was central to her life, and she loved her friends and family dearly. She delighted in her grandchildren. Service to others, hope, and thankfulness were hallmark qualities of her life. She loved people and loved sharing the gospel with everyone who would listen. Dorothy was born in Peoria, Illinois and moved to Louisiana in her twenties to pursue a career in nursing. She would spend the latter chapters of her life in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Her nursing career spanned 40 years beginning in New Orleans emergency rooms and hospitals, going to New Orleans public schools as a school nurse, and then ending as a nurse in hospice care in Texas. She touched so many families through her work, and some of her best friends were family of people she cared for as a nurse. Dorothy was a volunteer too. She volunteered her time to hold babies at NICU. She was a counselor at 6Stones, an organization that blessed her so much. She volunteered her time in other ways as well in Louisiana and Texas. Dorothy was a generous woman. She was not wealthy or well-off financially, but she would give what she had to help others in need. Dorothy was known for her thankfulness and delighted in blessings no matter how big or small. She would write down what she was thankful for on scraps of paper and collect them in a simple basket. She would collect her expressions of thanks in old popcorn tins and fill them to the top and start a new basket of things to be thankful for. She was a dog lover and had several throughout her life. We will remember Dorothy's warm personality, her fits of laughter, and her delicious Christmas cookies, among many other things. Dorothy leaves behind two sons and their families. Robert F. Noote and his wife, Loretta M. Noote, live in Hanover, Virginia. Christopher J. Noote and his wife, Tamika T. Noote, live in Fort Worth, Texas. Dorothy has four grandchildren: Cameron J. Stier, Arianna M. Noote, Giselle A. Noote, and Ethan C. Noote. She loved her family dearly and we are all so thankful for her and the love she shared throughout her life. Dorothy Noote was a very special person, and she will be missed dearly. Dorothy's memorial service was held at her church home, Journey Church, located at 4309 Colleyville Boulevard in Colleyville, Texas 76034 on Monday, January 17, 2022, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, help Dorothy continue to bless others by donating in Dorothy's memory to 6Stones at www.6stones.org.
