Obituary of Joseph James LeVesque
Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joe was born October 17, 1951, and was the oldest son of James and Beverly LeVesque. He was married on September 25, 1976, to Bianca Elena Ramirez and a few years later they adopted a baby girl whom they named Sarah Maria after a favorite James Taylor song.
After graduating from Sam Houston High in 1969, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army and spent three years serving his country. Upon his return from Vietnam, he worked in the marketing end of the tourism industry being associated with Six Flags Over Texas, Wet n Wild, Sea Word and both the Grand Prairie and San Antonio Wax Museum. Joe received his PhD from The University of Sarasota in Florida and transitioned into academics full-time where he taught for a number of universities as an adjunct professor both in the classroom and online, domestically and internationally, in all areas of business. He taught at Northwood University, Capella, Kaplan and LIGS, to name a few. Dr. LeVesque was passionate about the adult learner and helping them to succeed. He was a phenomenal educator but his best accomplishment by far was being the world’s greatest grandfather. He took pride in passing on his love of sarcasm to his granddaughters. Joe’s love of the outdoors often found him fishing, hunting or just sunbathing at his home listening to his favorite Jimmy Buffet tunes. Most recently he began a Children’s book series called “Join Me on the Road” about a wise-cracking cartoon armadillo who spoke in rhymes and loved to eat.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents and beloved brother, Tom LeVesque.
He is survived by his wife Bianca, daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Isidro Parra, granddaughters Monica, Veronica and Graciella; his three sisters, Mary, Terry and Vicki; many In-laws, nieces and nephews.
