Kenneth Doyle Rogers, age 82, passed away in his University Park, TX home on January 10, 2022.
Born in Henderson, TX, he was the son of Dorothy D. and Douglas C. Rogers. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State College in 1964 and began his career as an accountant with the firm Haskins & Sells (precursor to Deloitte, LLP) in Dallas, TX. He founded the accounting firms Alexander & Rogers in Lufkin, TX and Ken Rogers & Associates in Nacogdoches, TX.
He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. While working on an audit for Haskins & Sells in Shreveport, he met and married his wife of fifty-six years, Sally. An avid sports fan, he created the BallQube Baseball Display Case in 1983 and founded the company of the same name.
He is survived by his wife, their daughter, Suzanne Pham and son-in-law, Huy Pham, of Dallas, TX, their son, Brendan Rogers and daughter-in-law, Laura Rogers, of Austin, TX, and four grandchildren: Liam Pham, Ethan Pham, Harper Rogers, and Audrey Rogers. He is also survived by his brother, Earl Rogers and sister-in-law, Linda Rogers, of Henderson, TX and his sister Kay Castleberry and brother-in-law, W.T. Castleberry, of Kaufman, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Christopher, and his sister, Janice.
A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, January 22nd at 11 am at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 8011 Douglas Avenue, Dallas, TX, 75225. A reception will follow the service in the church parlor from 12 pm to 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to hospicefoundation.org.
