Dear Cynthia, Friend and Classmate, The Philip family in Houston, TX (Cheryl Stelly Philip), extends our heart felt prayers and condolences to you and your family, for the loss of your Husband. May God’s loving kindness grant you His Comfort and Peace, Always. I remember, back in 1980, walking with my husband, Glen, in Lincoln Mall, in Park Forest, Illinois. All of a sudden, I saw you, Cynthia, shopping in one of the stores. What a surprise it was for me and you to be seeing each other, in an unexpected place, far from Opelousas, LA. Then, you introduced us to your husband, Jesse. Glen and I, then invited you and Jesse to our home for dinner, where we enjoyed the pleasure of each other’s company. I am so glad to be able to share this memory with you, Cynthia. Friend Forever.

Jesse was a great and kind soul and we thank both of you for sharing yourselves and having a positive impact on us. We love and appreciate you and will terribly miss Mr. Jesse.

Jesse's humor never failed. His knowledge of people, places and all sorts of things was unbelievable and he was always willing to share. I was privileged to work with Jesse at the City of New Orleans for years and also as a personal friend of the family. He will be missed. Those of us who knew him and loved will always have great memories.

Jesse was was a builder! One of the most intellectual individuals I've ever met among thousands. His big heartened loving demeanor, coupled with his witty personality made everyone that came in contact with him immediately feel something special about the exchange. A special person with the gift of gap and a heart of gold. I wish I'd had the opportunity to spend more time around him. He somehow made us all better! Rest in peace knowing we will watchover Cynthia. Until we meet again...
