Vaughn Cochran,78, of Denton, TX, passed away on November 30, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Vaughn was born on March 24, 1943, to William B. and Margaret (Sparrow) Cochran in Alpine, TX. After graduating from Clint High School in 1961, he went on to study and earn a Bachelor of Business degree from Texas Western University (UTEP) in 1966. While studying at Texas Western, Vaughn was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. After graduation, Vaughn served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 – 1970 during the Vietnam War. After returning home to El Paso, Vaughn met and married, Sallie Diane Nix in June of 1973. Together they moved to West Texas and went on to build a loving home where they had two children, Heather Cochran Anderson and Blake Cochran. Vaughn touched many lives in his 34-year career with Purina Mills. He also made many life-long friends, which he treasured. Vaughn shared his caring and easy-going spirit with all that knew him. One never had to question that he was a man his word and his word was strong as oak. Vaughn and Diane shared their life raising their children in Christoval, TX for 30 plus years. They enjoyed going to all the local and area sports and events. They were also members of the Christoval United Methodist Church. After retiring from Purina Mills, Vaughn & Diane decided to be closer to their kids and grandkids and moved to Denton, TX in 2009. Vaughn spent his retirement years playing golf, traveling, watching sports and spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Vaughn was always most at home in the cooler mountains of New Mexico and Colorado and visited there as often as he could.
