Obituary of Johnny Campbell

Please share a memory of Johnny to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Johnny Luther Campbell was sent from Heaven on October 5, 1942. And he went back to Heaven on October 18, 2021. Johnny was a Magnificent Daddy, Faithful Husband, Honest Entrepreneur (though he would never say he was an entrepreneur), Humble Humanitarian, Proud Tennesseean, Loving Father-in-law, Loving son, Loving Granddaddy, Brother-in-law, Nephew & Cousin, Uncle & Friend. Expert exterminator, Lover of food, and flat out best human being that probably ever lived. Johnny is survived by his daughter and her wife, Angela & Carol of Rowlett, Texas. His son, Chris of Jefferson City. His son & his wife, Randall & Anna of Morristown. Five grandsons and 2 granddaughters. And his beloved cat~son, Socks. As well as, cousins, Barbara Sue Howell & Johnny Turner. Johnny was preceded in Heaven by his beloved wife, Betty. His loving Parents, Beulah & Porter. His beloved Aunt & Uncle who raised him, Ruth & Earl Rimmer. And sisters, Geneva, Pauline & Betty. And his brothers, Tommy & Jay. Johnny was born on October 5, 1942, in Jefferson City, TN. Johnny graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1962. Johnny voluntarily served his country in the United States Navy. Johnny worked as a farmer, in grocery stores, the insurance industry, and finally as an exterminator, where he found his calling. With the support of his wife, Betty, Johnny founded Campbell’s Exterminating Company. Johnny was a trusted exterminator in East Tennessee for over 50 years. Johnny will always be remembered for his honesty, his kindness, his dignity and his respectfulness. And as being a kind gentleman and good human being in every way. Johnny was a survivor…..Physically, emotionally & spiritually. Johnny was a well-read individual who read the Bible completely through 4 times. Maybe more, he wasn’t completely sure. He never bragged about anything. A service celebrating Johnny’s life will be held on October 24 at 1:30pm at First United Methodist Church in Jefferson City, Tennessee. The viewing will be at 12:30pm and burial will be following the service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. How can you honor Johnny? Be a good human being. Be honest & kind. Treat everyone with respect. And continue to do business with the company he built. And never discuss politics, just vote. Special thanks to Merit Memorial and Owen and Bryan Buntyn of Dallas, Texas. For their guidance, service and going the extra mile (1800 round trip). Thank You for honoring our Papa as you would your own. And for being my friends. “As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing.” ~2 Timothy 4:6-8 “Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.” ~ John Wesley
