Obituary of Odell "Bubba" Darrell Peoples

Odell “Bubba” Darrell Peoples Jr., 63 years of age, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on September 17, 2021.
Graveside Service will be held at Laurel Land Memorial Park, 6300 S. R. L Thornton, Dallas, Texas 75232, at 1:00 pm, on Friday, September 24, 2021, with Reverend Shiloah Hale with Merit Memorial Funeral officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Section of the Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at Merit Memorial Funeral and Cremation Care, 12801 N. Stemmons Freeway, #803, Farmers Branch, Texas 75234, on Thursday, September 23, 2021, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Merit Memorial Funeral and Cremation Care will be handling the arrangements.
Bubba was born in Dallas, Texas to Odell Peoples Sr. and Betty Jo Brooks, on August 1, 1958. He went on to attend several Dallas Independent Schools where he later graduated in 1976. Odell lived a greater portion of his life in various cities throughout Dallas. Bubba touched many lives during his time on earth. The simplest pleasures in life, such as visiting with friends, family, traveling to see his daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchild brought the greatest joy to Bubba. He made it a priority to maintain lasting friendships with those he came to know. He could often be found frequenting his former Oak Cliff neighborhood where he once lived with his mother and six (6) siblings.
Bubba is survived by Kathryn Jenkins, the mother of his daughter; his daughter Carla Jenkins; his sisters Sandra Darcel Caro, Vicky “Michelle” Rodriguez, Lolita “Tiny” G. Brenegan, Trina K. Washington & his longtime dear friend Paulette Bolden-Cornish; his brothers Ricky D. Washington & Akelion “Dinky” L. Washington; his brother-in-laws Bruce Brenegan, & Terry D. Caro; his six (6) Grandchildren; grandsons Jamal Jenkins, Dezra Jefferson, Jr.& JaMarcus Jefferson; granddaughters Kiara Jefferson, Octavia Jefferson & Tyra Jefferson; his great-grandchild Laylah Jefferson; a host of nephews, nieces, uncle, aunt, cousins, and many friends. He is preceded in death by both of his parents & his brother-in-law Juan A. Rodriguez.
