Marilyn Birdsong Bell “M” “Great M” September 30, 1937-August 7,2021 Marilyn was born to Austin and Kathryn Birdsong in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She grew up in Edwards, Mississippi, and married Oliver Ellison Bell Jr. on Sunday, June 16, 1957 after the noon church service. They raised their two daughters in Edwards. She held many jobs, including secretary at Rebul Academy in Learned, Mississippi and City Clerk in Edwards. She was an expert typist and would type the Sunday bulletin for the Edwards Methodist Church. She and Oliver moved to Norman, Oklahoma in 1980, where they became faithful University of Oklahoma fans until the day the Lord called her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, Oliver, and her brother, William Austin Birdsong Jr. She is survived by her daughter Miriam Bell and family and Adrienne Bell Leonard and family. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 2:30 pm at Holy Nativity Episcopal Church (2200 18th Street, Plano, Texas 75074). Marilyn and Oliver will have their ashes interred at the Edwards Cemetery in Edwards, Mississippi. The family would like to sincerely thank all of her family and friends for their continuous prayers.
