What a life Mr. West had while on this planet we call Earth. My sympathy to the West family. What a great man he was, and now he gets to take one last journey that will be everlasting.

Thoughts and prayers to the family.
I met Bob in the mid 90s. He would welcome many of us to his home for a weekend of fishing. He would always insist that everyone come back and we did for over 25 years. Thank you for that, lots of good times to be remembered forever.
I feel blessed to have known him.
RIP Bob, you will always be remembered.

Max Bruysschaard and family are so sad to hear of the passting of Bob West. Our family has know them since our youngest daughter and Janet were in school together. The fun times, fantastic memories, and laughter over antics of kids will never be forgotten. We have enjoyed cruising with Bob and Ann and have spent some great times with them in Emory as well. Bob will be greatly missed by family and friends.

I had the distinct pleasure of working with Bob West on the Apollo Earth Landing parachute system during the drop testing and qualification phases. I made several trips to El Centro, CA, to represent Bob, and the Johnson Space Center during the development and qualification of the parachute system that was formally known as the Apollo Earth Landing System (AELS). Bob was the consummate professional and was always a real pleasure to work with.

Just reading Bob's obituary makes us all so pleased to have had him in our lives. I'm sure Ann and the family take much pride being reminded of what a wonderful man whose life we shared. And that this pride will help relieve the pain of his loss.
I worked with Bob for many years, mostly on Apollo. I got to see the many important contributions he made to that historic program. I will always treasure my copy of his "Apollo Experience Report" in which he added a warm personal note that I will always cherish. He wrote that report late in Apollo and it documented the entire Earth Landing System program. It has been called the most important document to come out of that entire effort and has been used by every major parachute system program since. A true Christian gentleman and patriot, and a wonderful engineer. chuck lowry
