Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert Mark Kielwasser, 59, went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2021. He was born in Skokie, Illinois to George and Karen Kielwasser on January 4, 1962. He went to Ypsilanti High School in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and graduated in 1980, lettering in football, wrestling, tennis, and golf. He put himself thru college by working offshore and went on to receive his BSC in Engineering and Business Management from Louisiana State University. He was a member of the LSU wrestling team and Sigma Chi Fraternity. Mark met Whitney at LSU and after dating for seven years, they were married in Baton Rouge, LA. He loved to tell people the story about how they ‘accidentally’ met on a Mississippi riverboat cruise in New Orleans. On June 24th, 2021 they celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary. They welcomed their daughter, Maria Yelena, into their family on February 8th, 2008 and she became a daddy’s girl from the day they first met. Mark’s namesake, Uncle Bob instilled in Mark a passion for the great outdoors. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, and dedicating time and energy to conservation, especially the Texas Big Horn Society. He traveled internationally to hunt and was proud of his Grand Slam of sheep and Turkey Slam. Mark also collected fine art and antiques and loved all things regarding the Civil War. His favorite time was spent with his daughter Maria whom he cherished. He wanted to give her everything her heart desired and would always encourage her to stay “Brave and Strong.” She was especially proud that her Daddy could repair anything around the house and could even give her a cute haircut. Mark had a successful professional career in executive management, sales, business development, and entrepreneurship including companies such as General Electric, Boston Scientific, Eli Lilly, American Physician Housecall, OrchestrateHR as well privately help organizations in the US and abroad. In the last 10 years, he was a Co-Founder and Board Member of SYNERGEN Health. He loved mentoring fellow colleagues as well as connecting people in his vast network. Mark is survived by his wife Whitney Riffel Kielwasser, his daughter Maria, mother Karen Kielwasser, siblings David Kielwasser (Alice), Bonnie Kielwasser, Kiersten Withrow (Danny), and Paul Kielwasser (Amie), and many nieces and nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his father, George Kielwasser, and sister Kimberley. A memorial service will be held at Highland Park Presbyterian Church on July 30, 2021, at 3:00 PM, with Rev. Dr. Ron Scates officiating. A reception in Elliott Fellowship Hall will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the Kielwasser family asks for donations to be sent to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) North Texas at www.NAMInorthtexas.org.
