Obituary of Chester Emil Bieniosek
Chester Bieniosek, age 93, died April 6, 2019, in Dallas TX.
He enjoyed hiking in the mountains, was fluent in 4 languages, and earned the M. S. in Chemical Engineering degree from the Polytechnic Institute of Silesia in Poland. A fervent anti-communist, he escaped to post-war Berlin where he was attached to the US Army. He married his wife Ursula (Menzel) in West Germany in 1952 and emigrated to the United States. He earned the M. S. in Metallurgical Engineering degree from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in 1956.
His career included positions as a chemist with Ledoux and Company; a development engineer for the Linde Division of Union Carbide in NJ; for United States Steel as practice engineer and welding engineer at National Tube Works in McKeesport, PA, as a research engineer at Monroeville Research Center, PA, and as a process engineer at Geneva Works in Orem, UT; as technical director for Rossborough Manufacturing in Avon Lake, OH; and a consultant to the global steel industry. He received seven patents for his innovations in the field of steelmaking.
He retired in Birmingham AL, where he lived for over 20 years, before relocating to Bedford TX. In his retirement, he was an avid ballroom dancer and bridge player. He played piano his entire life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Irena, Maria, Teresa (Boczkaj), his wives Ursula, Peggy, Wanda, and Wendy, and his son Francis. He is survived by his sisters Stefania (Walewska) and Genowefa (Konarzewska), his children Thomas, Anthony, Ursula (Kuterbach), Monica (
A funeral mass is scheduled for June 21, 2019, at 11 am, at St. Francis of Assisi church, in Orem UT, followed by burial in the Orem City Cemetery.
