Jai Jinendra Kulwant Uncle, Amit-Shaily, Akhil-Charu, Vipul Jain and the rest of the Jain family,
Jai Jinendra everyone,
First of all, Shital, kids and I offer our deepest condolences and offer solidarity with you in this time of mourning the loss of Rekha aunty. Loss of a beloved family member, especially a Mom/Wife hits you hard. Rekha aunty suffered many health adversities in the last few years…challenges the like of which'll bring one to their knees and break your will - but, not for Rekha aunty!
It'd be no exaggeration that Rekha aunty was literally one of the strongest willed souls that we've come across! She was a student of Jainism just like the rest of us and had figured out a way to use the health related 'downtime' to accelerate the application of those Jainism principles to her life and situation. In speaking with her, one always felt that she had a sense of calm and focus on what was really important, despite these adversities. Rekha aunty - you're truly an inspiration and a hero!
However, every hero needs help at times..... and she was fortunate to have plenty.
Kulwant Uncle: Uncle, you've been constantly at her side thru all these adversities in mind, body and spirit, literally 24*7 - aunty was extremely lucky to have you as her life partner!
Amit, Shaily, Adit and Arpita: You guys were her tireless support ecosystem from researching various therapy options, talking to various healthcare professionals and ascertaining pros/cons of treatment pathways, bringing consensus with other members of the family, enabling the care she needed and making aunty emotionally and physically comfortable at home. She was lucky to have you as kids!
Akhil, Charu Jain and Aryan: You guys were the bedrock for her 'spiritual conditioning' in the last few months when she moved to hospice with your "Daily Adhyatmic Sambodhan" covering various "samadhi topics", to Tirthkshetra's - really 'Adhyatma 360'. I know aunty looked forward to those sessions and several other family members benefitted. Aunty was lucky to have you as her kids.
I'm aware that all other Jain family members and friends who were separated by geographical distances: Vipul/Akanksha Jain, Aunty's sisters, brothers and family - were aunty's constant source of strength. She was lucky to have such a caring family!
As we mourn the loss of Rekha aunty, we will undoubtedly celebrate the life she lived, the values she practiced and taught us forever - the values of resilience, strength, love. I hope we can also become better students of Jainism by applying 'Jainism concepts' to everyday life like she showed us with hers!
The inevitable has happened and aunty is not amongst us anymore. I pray the Jain family and the rest of us find solace in knowing that she is a strong soul and undoubtedly has gone to a better place where she can accelerate her path to Moksh. We would forever miss her here. Shital and I cannot begin to comprehend the sorrow you're feeling at this time, "Jain family" - we're united in grief - please accept our deepest condolences. Jai Jinendra.
