Obituary of Michael McIntosh

Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Saturday, June 19th, 2021, Michael Wayne McIntosh, beloved brother and entertaining uncle, passed away at the age of 68. Michael Wayne was born on a warm and windy March 21st, 1953, in Dallas, Texas. He was raised in Oak Cliff with his three sisters. He went to Steven’s Park Elementary School and worked at the Association for Retarded Citizens, https://thearc.org/about-us/history/. Mikey, as we all knew him, was the life of the party. How could you forget his bear hugs, how much he loved all his animals, including the many cats, named Ralph, time spent watching “his” cooking shows and sneaking up on you. Mikey collected M&M Memorabilia, plastic cups from each event he ever saw and anything Dr. Pepper. Mikey bowled for almost 40 years in the Special Olympics. He knew every game date and time for all his cherished Dallas sports teams. Mikey made each passerby feel special with his unique wave. He could hit a target with rolled up socks from 20 feet away and had the most colorful language of anyone you know. Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Christeen, and Father, Thurman “Mac” McIntosh. He is survived by his sisters, Kathy Hermer, Carrol Thompson and youngest sister, Sherry Laughridge and her husband, Ralph. He will be dearly missed by his 29 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 23rd at Merit Memorial 12801 N. Stemmons Fwy. #803 Farmers Branch, Texas 75234 from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. The service will begin at 2 P.M. Thursday, June 24th also at Merit Memorial. Graveside service will be held on Friday morning at 10 A.M. at Restland Memorial Park, 9220 Restland Rd., Dallas, Texas 75243. Everyone is welcome back to the house afterward. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations, in Mikey’s name, to Special Olympics at https://www.sotx.org/donate-now.
