Obituary of Reba Jane Craycraft

Funeral services for Reba Reppond Craycraft, 87, of Dallas Texas, will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Preston Road Church of Christ, Dallas, with Farland Clark and Jesse Stroup officiating. Interment will follow at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas Texas. Ms. Craycraft died at The Traymore at Park Cities Senior Care Center on Monday, June 7th, 2021. She was born in Marion, Louisiana on December 9, 1933, and resided in the Dallas area for the last 40 years. She voluntarily entered the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and served her country with pride. Although she never went overseas during her enlistment, she served in the medical corps in the maternity ward as a NICU nurse and her claim to fame is that she assisted in delivering over 1,000 babies in a one-year period. She had a passion and drive to fight for veteran rights and served as a member of the honor guard to honor the passing of veterans at the Dallas Veterans Medical Center. She had a passion for genealogy and family history and spent quite a bit of time researching family lineage. She also enjoyed being creative and making jewelry in her spare time. She is survived by her son, Joe F. Barbee, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Hannah Rose Barbeeand Elizabeth "Betty" Violet Barbee. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to noon just prior to the funeral on Thursday, June 17th, 2021 at Preston Road Church of Christ, Dallas.
