Obituary of Margaret Smith

Mrs. Margaret "Peg" Ann Smith (Stenavage) went home to be with the Lord on May 22, 2021, at 10:45 am, in the loving presence of her spouse, after fighting an 11-year battle with breast cancer at the age of 53. She was the daughter of George M. Stenavage and Jacquelyn G. Stenavage (Aigeldinger), born on October 17, 1967, in Reading, Pennsylvania. She was the wife of Mr. Tracy L. Smith, married for 30 years, and they had four children together. Peg lived a life of faith in Jesus Christ, being saved by Christ through faith on August 15, 1990. Her faith led her to use her voice on the praise team and choir at Spring Valley Church of God in Temple, Pennsylvania for 25 years where she also worked as the finance manager and secretary to the head pastor. She also ministered alongside her husband and daughter, leading worship in local churches in Dallas Texas, including The Church of the Kingdom in Mesquite. She was a singer and songwriter of the band Soul Fashioned, along with her husband and daughter, who released a CD in 2011. Later in life, she became a member of the Pathway of Life Church in Mesquite, Texas. After the birth of her grandson, Peg authored the children's book "God Made My Heart", and a memoir It's Not Over: A Testimony of God’s Healing. Peg, along with her husband, also created the SmithCards'N'More Christian playing cards. She was a bank teller for 18 years, working at Riverfront Credit Union, Visions Federal Credit Union, and at Vist Financial. She was a graduate from Mount Penn Highschool in 1985 with an associate’s degree in Business from Liberty University in 2014. She is preceded in death by her mother Jacquelyn G. Stenavage (Mt. Penn, PA) Surviving is her husband Tracy L. Smith (Seagoville, TX), her daughter: Rachael L. Ferling (Smith), wife of Korey J. Ferling (Seagoville, TX), three sons: Jorden P. Smith, husband of Alison Smith (Black) (Groton, CT), Noah A. Smith (Seagoville, TX), and Zakary Z. Smith (Carrolton, TX), two grandchildren: Asher L. Ferling and Aila M. Ferling (Seagoville, TX), her father George M. Stenavage (Mt. Penn, PA), her brother David G. Stenavage (Mt. Penn, PA), her sister Paula M. Kasprzak (Stenavage), wife of Anthony Kasprzak (Reinholds, PA), and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Pathway of Life Church 8510 Military Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75227 on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at 2:00 PM, and at Spring Valley Church of God 2727 Old Pricetown Rd, Temple, PA 19560 on Sunday, June 6th, 2021 at 4:00 PM.
