Obituary of Sharon Kay Bell

Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Sharon departed this life and received the prize of being with her heavenly Father and Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 1st, 2021. Born March 30th, 1946 in Tulsa, OK, Sharon was raised by her loving parents, Jacob and Elizabeth Plett. She was the youngest of three children. Sharon received her undergraduate degree in Education at Northeastern State University and her master’s degree in Education from Oklahoma State University. She went on to teach in multiple states including California and Missouri. Later, she transitioned to corporate sales and marketing and finally Insurance sales before her retirement. In her later years, Sharon occasionally worked as a substitute teacher and enjoyed the opportunity to be a census worker, including this past Fall. Sharon moved to Texas in the mid 90’s to be close to her mother. She continued her friendships from Oklahoma and made additional friendships in Texas. Sharon enjoyed spending time with her friends from Sunday school, her Red Hat Society and simply socializing over a meal. She was a long-time member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, TX and enjoyed bible fellowship. Sharon loved her grandchildren and will always be remembered for the joy she took outfitting them with clothes for every occasion! One of the greatest highlights of her life was her travel with friends to wonderful places like Italy, France, England, Hong Kong, Thailand, and other amazing destinations. Her numerous travels were captured in photos and memories of her adventures lived freshly in her mind. We will miss Sharon greatly, yet as Christians, we know that celebration cannot match the incredible joy she is now experiencing in the presence of God. Sharon is survived by her children Brad (Mandy) Bell, Prosper, TX; Bryan (Leslie) Frisco, TX; grandchildren Micah and Ryker (Brad) and Zach, Kennedy, and Kate (Bryan) as well as her brother LaVern Plett, Garland, TX, nieces Teri Shelton, Tacoma, WA, Melissa Hancock, Ovilla, TX, and her nephew Greg Plett, Broken Arrow, OK. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Eugene Plett of Big Bear City, CA
