Eric was my best friend for about 3 decades, He is the reason I moved to Texas, and we got together almost every night after I moved here for years. I was the best man at his wedding and he at mine.
I did find it interesting how many people that I know were important in his life are not resented in the video at all - perhaps just didn't have photos.
He was a good friend for those 30 or so years....

Eric was a brilliant software engineer. I had the honor of working with him for a year or two. He was always cheerfully available for a consult. Eric will be missed.

I went to a DFW UUG meeting where I learned he had passed away just a few months earlier. Although we didn't hang out physically (except for work and UUG meetings) we had a lot in common and I considered him a friend and mentor. I would occasionally IM him late nights with issues and he'd always cheerfully respond. Truly one of the best; he is sorely missed.

I had the privilege of working with Eric for a year and enjoyed it immensely. A great engineer and a lovely, big-hearted character.

Eric gave many presentations for the DFW UNIX users group that were always on point and detailed reflecting his professional approach to current computing technologies. It was a joy to hear him give presentations and discuss his experiences. The thing I will always remember about Eric was the intrinsic happiness which he projected. He was a great guy and a real asset in our tech community. I am pleased to see he was a giving and caring person in his obituary which paints his full life. He will be missed and remembered.

Eric was a long-time member and sponsor of the Dallas/Fort Worth Unix Users Group, and hosted our web site for more than 15 years. He gave a number of technical talks on IPv6 and on the then-current status of NetBSD. He was a well-respected and very engaging speaker.
He was a good friend, and will be missed.
