Dear Janet, Wes, and Ann we are grieving with you on the loss of your beloved mother. Johanna was more than just a friend. She was like a sister to me and a family member to us. From the time we first met her at Town North YMCA we discovered we had much in common and soon became very close friends. We enjoyed our swim classes, shopping excursions, eating out or in and especially visiting for long periods of time. Our long conversations had no boundaries or limitations. We loved exchanging thoughts and ideas especially about Europe, her ancestry and family. We learned much from each other. When we parted it was always pleasant and we always looked forward to the next time. Johanna always had a positive attitude, she was kind and generous, happy, full of love for everyone even stray animals. Our home is not the same without her visits. Even though Alzheimer’s affected her memory somewhat it did not diminish the light in her eyes and the smile on her face. We loved her and miss her so much. May She Rest In Peace and May Perpetual Light Shine Upon Her.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy dearest Janet, Wesley, and Ann on the passing of your beloved mother. What a beautiful soul! I consider it a huge blessing and honor that it was in God's plan for me to befriend your mother and spend a little time with her on her earthly journey. She was a kind, loving, gracious, friendly, warm, and generous lady! Her faith shone bright and strong in her words and actions. She was truly a follower of Christ, an embodiment of His love. May my friend, Johanna rest in Christ's eternal peace!

In September of 2012, Johanna began attending the Monday Bible Study at St Monica Catholic Church and always arrived with a big, beautiful smile on her face and a prayer in her heart. She was perfectly put together and prepared for class. Her enthusiasm and friendly disposition were eclipsed only by her deep commitment to her faith and to learning more about it so that she could live as a devout, abiding Christian. Her comments and questions always contributed to the learning atmosphere of the class and helped us all grow our faith, too.
In the waning months of her attendance, it was clear to many of us that her memory was fading. Yet never, did she lose her love of Christ and His Church. She was a friend and sister to all and a wonderful role model. We miss her.

Johanna and her beloved family are a blessing from the Lord. I would remember Johanna’s love for her Lord, her family and friends. She changed the world every single day and when she was around people they feel the love and joy she possessed. We celebrate her because she is in Heaven with the Lord. I will always think about her every day of my life. Thank you Lord for such a beautiful woman and a Angel from you Lord.
