Obituary of Marion Farmer

A celebration of life for Marion Ursula Farmer, 91, of The Colony will be held on Monday February 18, 2019  3pm in the community room at Evergreen at Morningstar 6245 Morning Star The Colony, Texas 75056.  Marion passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 13, 2019 after suffering a stroke the week before.

Marion was born on May 24, 1927 in Montreal, Quebec Canada to Clarence Michael Flynn and Lena Collier.    Marion grew up in Canada living there until after she had her son Joey in 1967.   She came to the United States with her former husband, Harold Farmer in the early 1970’s.  They moved around for a couple of years but ultimately settled in the small Northern Oklahoman town of Pond Creek.  Marion lived in Pond Creek until after Joey graduated high school and went to college.   She moved to Enid, Oklahoma for several years then onto Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Marion moved to The Colony, Texas in 2009 to be near Joey, Valerie and her grandchildren.  She worried and cared deeply for her family and friends and wanted nothing but the best for all of them.  She loved sending cards for every occasion, if there was a card for it she sent it and they were always on time.  She faithfully played the lottery every week, always hoping to get that extra number and win some money.  Marion enjoyed spending time visiting and playing bingo with the friends she made at Evergreen during the 10 years she lived there.

Marion is survived by her son Joey, his wife Valerie and grandchildren Brenna and Braden.  Marion was a very caring and generous person giving to many charities.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to The American Heart Association or St Jude’s.
