ALEJANDRO VON ROSSUM posted a condolence
Friday, September 11, 2020
My wife and I, meet Tony and Toppy at Padre Grand.
We worked many years in the Board of Directors, and I must
say we always saw a true gentleman who always provided
his wisdom and knowledge for the benefit of all.
We enjoyed very much getting together after the meetings
to exchange stories and have a wonderful time.
He always had a smile on his face and the joy of having
Toppy at his side and of course his dog.
We will miss him very much and would like to express
our condolences to all the family, but very specially to Toppy.
Un fuerte abrazo.
Alejandro y Laura von Rossum

Toppy and family,
I am so grateful for knowing Tony. I first met him outside a polling station in Richardson when he was running for reelection. I was leaving and he gave me a emory board which I still have. I told him that I had voted for him. I have always found him to be a kind and generous individual. It was a pleasure to be his friend and know him and you. I do remember the times we dined together and I always asked the Congressman to lead us in a word of prayer and he always asked for God"s blessing for our servicemen and women. He was always grateful and when he left my office he said God bless you. We watched his service on the internet streaming and he would have been proud of what people said about him.
Love,
Jack and Marty

Served in the Army with Tony and together had many lasting experiences which we shared in memory over the years. He never forgot any of the guys we served with and always made a point of seeing how each one was doing and then sharing the info with the others. His concern and thoughtfulness of people was certainly manifest in the phases of his life. I could say "God bless him" but no need; he was blessed from the start!

Tony was such a warm, welcoming and sharing person. Tony even gave us videotape copies of the Pacesetter Drill Team performances before we had a video camera. His is a life well lived. He was also our favorite Republican - sincerest condolences from two dedicated Democrats.

I'd love to light a green candle for Tony. He was a light in so many lives. I have many, many memories of that man. So special. We appreciated being included in the girls' weddings, even in California! He was the best host at parties and made wonderful meat filled queso! Thank you Toppy for sharing this man with us. His passing definitely leaves a hole in our lives.

My name is Steve Storey and I am the CEO of Pavillion Bank in Richardson, Texas. In 1997, we asked Tony to become a member of the bank's board of directors at which time he accepted our offer. For the past 23 years, Tony has served the bank not only as a director, but also as a member of many of our sub-committees. His leadership, management ability, and support have played a major role in the bank's success.
I would like to thank Tony for all of his many contributions and the many great memories I have from working with him.. I am honored to not only call him a colleague, but a very good friend. He will be greatly missed. A life well lived and may he forever rest in peace.

I'll never be able to adequately express the scope of influence that Representative Tony Goolsby had on my life. He was a statesman, he was my boss and he was my friend. I miss him dearly but his spirit lives on and he endures in my heart and mind. I am forever grateful to him and his family.--Fritz Reinig

In 1993, I received one of the biggest blessings when I joined Arthur Andersen and met Tony's oldest daughter, Mellie As I reflect on various turning points or pivotal moments in my life, this was definitely one of the top ones. Not only was I introduced to one of my best friends, I was also blessed with meeting Tony and Toppy. As the father of 3 girls and grandfather of 3 granddaughters, they could not have asked for anyone better! Tony modeled to his girls how a girl/woman should be respected all the while being a gentlemen. I also cannot thank you enough for everything that you have done for me and for Isabella, despite tricking you into eating cauliflower mashed potatoes vs regular mashed potatoes that one time during Thanksgiving at your lakehouse.

Life won't be the same without Tony, especially Christmas. However, his zest for life will always remain with each of us whose life he touched. May we follow his example and through quiet but positive action, care about others. Kevin and Jerrie Welch
