John Edward Todaro May 27, 1936 – November 17, 2021 On Wednesday, November 17, 2021, John Todaro, devoted husband and father of four children, died at the age of 85 surrounded by the love of his family in Allen, Texas. John was born on May 27, 1936, along with his twin brother James, to Russell and Regina (Klos) Todaro in Waco, Texas. He proudly served in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman from 1954-58 and continued his medical studies at Baylor University in Waco, Texas until 1964. John began his career as a Laboratory Technician at Providence Hospital where he met his wife of nearly 59 years, Caroline June Klein. John and Caroline were married on January 5, 1963, and had four children, John Jr., Lora Elizabeth, Mary Kathleen, and Christopher Allen. John had a long, successful career spanning over 30 years with SmithKline Beecham. Above all else, John was devoted to his family and dedicated his life to making sure they were taken care of and provided for in many ways. He had a passion for cooking and was known for creating legendary meals including his infamous spaghetti and meatballs. John loved the outdoors where he was an avid fisherman, especially in retirement when he fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning a lake house. He was also a steadfast man of faith in the Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. John was a generous man of service in life and known for his ability to MacGyver any repair long before the word entered our lexicon. John was preceded in death by his father and mother, Russell and Regina, his brothers Richard Allen and James Michael, and his son John Edward Jr. He is survived by his wife Caroline, his three children, Lora (Randy) Meeks, Kathleen (Kevin) Vaught, and Chris (Janet) Todaro, along with his six grandchildren whom he adored: Evan and Mallory Meeks, Kevin Jr and Sophie Vaught, and Antonio and Diego Todaro. John is also survived by his siblings Teresa (Brick) Parrish, Russell (Jane) Todaro, and Bill (Debbie) Todaro, and numerous nieces and nephews. A rosary service and funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, 1515 N Greenville Ave, Allen, TX 75002 at 10:15 a.m. and 11 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway N, Allen.
